Mission Trips

Mission trips allow us to live with and learn from our brothers and sisters in other parts of the country and around the world while sharing their struggles with hunger, poverty, natural disaster. We offer a helping hand, but most importantly, an open heart to all we meet. There are opportunities for everyone to be involved with mission trips at DPC, including participating in a trip, praying for trip participants and for those whom with they will be working, and helping to provide supplies and support for volunteers.

We travel to lend a helping hand!

Want to travel to a new place and help at the same time? See below!

Multi-Generational Jersey Shore Mission Trip

October 1 – 2, 2020

This past summer, a group from DPC returned to the Jersey Shore to work with the St. Bernard’s Project to rebuild a home that was damaged in Hurricane Sandy. The family has been displaced since the massive storm eight years ago and is hoping they may finally be able to return home by this Christmas. St. Bernard’s Project is depending on DPC to help complete this home, and we have planned to return on October 1 and 2 to help again! It will only be our group on site along with a few SBP staff members, and COVID safety protocols will be followed at all times.

You may come for one or both days, and if you’d like to stay overnight the group will be lodging at Camp Evans, which is clean with ample room to spread our safely. We hope you will consider joining us for this mission fulfilling work!

This is a unique opportunity to learn more about Native Americans in the Southwest and see life on a reservation. You will see DPC’s continued involvement and commitment to helping Native Americans in need on these reservations. This trip is designed for families with children ages 10 and older and activities will be family-friendly. More details will be available after January 2021. If you have questions, please contact Mary Lee or Brian Reiff at dpc@dtownpc.org. Include “SW Trip” in the subject line.
