Community Protection Program

The purpose of the Community Protection Program is to protect children, youth, and endangered adults from abuse.

Rooted in written policy, and under the oversight of Session (DPC governing body), essential tenets of the CPP include:

• Compliance with state and federal laws regarding abuse protection
• State and federal clearances for staff and volunteers, repeated every 5 years
• Standards of Conduct, as well as Best Practices specific to each area of ministry
• Mandatory reporting of abuse or suspected abuse to state authorities
• Ongoing training of staff and volunteers on abuse awareness, as well as their responsibilities under the CPP

As a volunteer, you are a vital part of DPC’s ministry to nurture young people in faith!

Application:

• Complete application (available HERE or in the DPC Office) and email to dpc@dtownpc.org OR mail/drop off to DPC at 127 East Court St. Doylestown, PA 18901

Background Checks

• PA Child Abuse History Clearance
• PA State Police Criminal Records Check
• ONLY if you have lived in PA for less than 10 consecutive years: FBI Criminal Records Check for which you have to preregister to make an appointment and get fingerprinted).

Otherwise, simply have yourself and a witness sign the “Disclosure Statement for Volunteers Living in PA Greater than 10 Consecutive Years” (Attachment C of the application)

CPP Training:

• Attend the training presentation (contact dpc@dtownpc.org for upcoming sessions)
• Receive a copy of the CPP policy for your perusal
